President, Retail Focus, Inc. Bruce Katz is president of San Francisco-based Retail Focus, Inc. and co-founder and co-principal of Retail Intelligence Advisors, LLC. Both are advisory firms that provide market and property analysis and real estate strategies to assist retail and shopping center owners, developers, investors and municipalities identify market opportunities and competitive advantages for their retail projects. Mr. Katz brings a unique combination of expertise from almost thirty-five years experience in both the retail and shopping center industries. He has held executive positions at major department and specialty stores (Bloomingdale’s, I. Magnin and The Sharper Image), as well as at The Taubman Company, a leading shopping center development/management firm, where he was Senior Retail Analyst and Director of Retail Services during his twelve-year tenure. The combination of retail merchandising expertise with years of planning, management, leasing and marketing experience in the shopping center industry, gives Mr. Katz a unique perspective into retail real estate. Through both Retail Focus and Retail Intelligence Advisors, he continues to offer insightful analysis and state-of-the-art strategies to industry leaders. Mr. Katz specializes in synthesizing market research data and making it actionable for clients. Retail Focus and Retail Intelligence Advisors offer succinct analysis, customized and innovative market positioning strategies, tenant mix planning and sales forecasting for retail development, and redevelopment. The firm also provides due diligence for shopping center acquisitions and sales and advises in retail real estate investment. Mr. Katz works with clients coast-to-coast and internationally. Stuart Zall
President, The Zall Company, LLC Stuart Zall has over 25 years experience in the national real estate leasing business including six years with The Taubman Company, where he rose to the position of Vice President, Leasing. Taubman is an internationally known $5 billion real estate development and management organization. Mr. Zall founded The Zall Company in 2000 and has since represented many high profile developers and REIT’s in their leasing efforts, including Vornado, Forest City, Westrust, and Continental Real Estate Group. He has leased many large-scale centers across the country including Dolphin Mall in Miami, FL, The Plant in San Jose, CA, The Nut Tree in Vacaville, CA, Lowry Vista in Denver, CO, and The Streets of Brentwood in Brentwood, CA. The Zall Company is also presently involved in the development and leasing of a groundbreaking "Western format" outlet mall in Xi'an, China. Mr. Zall has leased many flagship locations of both Forever 21 and H&M, including at the Denver Pavilions, accounting for over 55,000 SF of retail space there for these two stores alone. The H&M store at Denver Pavilions was the first in Colorado. Mr. Zall also facilitated the lease for the first Under Armour MTN store in Vail and was responsible for bringing a flagship Forever 21 to a street location in Santa Monica, CA. Mr. Zall's earlier achievements include the leasing of large scale projects such as the Great Mall of the Bay Area, a former Ford assembly plant converted into a 1.5 million-square-foot value mega mall and Great Lakes Crossing, a 1.2 million-square-foot value mega mall in Auburn Hills, Michigan. He also headed the leasing for Mainstreet, Florida, a 1 million-square-foot entertainment center in Jacksonville. His experience and relationships allow him to accelerate leases with such prestigious clients as H&M, Lululemon, See’s Candies, West Elm, Under Armour, Le Creuset, DKNY, Charlotte Russe, Vans Skate Park, Perry Ellis, Pacific Sunwear, Bebe, Chico's, Fresh Choice, Johnny Rockets, BCBG, the Alcatraz Brew Pub Company, Guess Jeans, St. John Knits, The Limited, Hot Topic and Forever 21.
